The Aussie Inn in Hackham has undergone a spectacular multimillion-dollar makeover, transforming it into a modern, premium venue that can host 650 people across a spacious beer garden, alfresco terrace, and an expansive indoor area.
“The pub has been thoughtfully designed with the community in mind,” General Manager Jackson Rogers says.
“There’s space for local sports clubs to enjoy the game in the sports bar, for friends to gather and share a meal, and for parents to unwind with a drink in hand while keeping an eye on their kids having fun in the playground.”
The redesign, led by award-winning architect Chris Rowlands, has a classic ’80s front bar charm with modern touches. The outdoor spaces are particularly special, with picnic tables on lush lawns, a playground for the kids, and an alfresco dining area that lights up beautifully at night with festoon lighting.
Inside, the bistro offers cosy booth seating and a double-sided fireplace. The menu is full of delicious choices, from pub classics to creative local dishes like chargrilled octopus with kipfler potato salad and lemon pepper crocodile skewers. There’s even a section of the menu dedicated to upgrading the classic schnitzel, with fun toppers like Hawaiian (Napoli sauce, ham, pineapple, mozzarella) and King Avo (bacon and avocado).
If you love a good, cold beer, the sports bar is a standout, with 16 beers on tap and plenty of screens showing AFL and American sports.
And if you’re after a venue for a special event, the Aussie Inn has a function space that can accommodate up to 300 people, perfect for corporate events, celebrations, and everything in between.
