FIRST LOOK: The Iconic Railway Station Set To Welcome $6m Bar & Restaurant

The Guardsman will feature a grand central bar, open kitchen and a coffee front serving you all your favourite caffeine-hits with a range of takeaway food.

The space in the iconic Adelaide Railway Station that formerly housed the Overland Dining Hall is set to be transformed into a new, all-hours bar and dining hall The Guardsman.

After being over-looked for more than a decade, the space is now being activated with a $6 million injection from SKYCITY Adelaide.

Fancy a quick drink or a bite to eat before making the commute home? Maybe you just need to grab a quick coffee before running on the way to a meeting in the morning?

The Guardsman will feature a grand central bar, open kitchen and a coffee front serving you all your favourite caffeine-hits with a range of takeaway food.

The bar and dining hall will be a celebration of all things South Australian, with the best of our local food and beverage producers on board to bring the flavour.

Adelaide Casino General Manager of Marketing, Greg Stirling, was excited about the plans to transform this part of the train station.

“The Guardsman will be a distinguishing feature of Renewal SA’s plan to revitalise the Adelaide Railway Station and will make a major contribution towards transforming the Station into a destination where people choose to start their journey, meet friends and make plans.”

A team of local designers from Studio Gram will spearhead the fit out of the venue, with a focusing on retro furnishings and cosy booths peppered around the space.

The Guardsman is projected to be completed in November this year.

More details to come.
