Pike River in South Australia’s Riverland is home to the newly opened ‘Riverland Wine Centre’, which officially launches on August 25 with a public party.

To further celebrate its opening, the Wine Centre is hosting its first big event, the Riverland Budburst Festival on August 31.

The Riverland Wine Centre is located next to the Pike River Luxury Villas, which are very successful destination getaways.

The public opening of the Wine Centre encourages guests to come and view the new venue and explore the beautiful nature and views of the surrounding Pike and Murray Rivers.

The open day launch is kicking off at 1:30pm, followed by an official welcome and launch given at 2pm.

While this is happening, you can enjoy a complimentary glass of Pike River Fiano or Shiraz, as well as platters made of local produce. If you’re looking for more food, you can also order yummy gourmet slab pizzas.

Andy Salvanos, will be providing the entertainment on the day by masterfully playing a unique instrument called the chapman stick.

The Riverland Wine Centre will be open daily from 11am – 4pm, with seasonal extended times and is the perfect place to explore the region’s wineries.

Hosting over 20 different Riverland wineries, the Wine Centre’s interactive storyboards take you through the journey of each winery and provide tastings from each one.

Some of these wineries include, Angove Family Winemakers, Burke Salter Wines, Caudo Vineyard, 919 Wines, Salena Estate and Berri Estates Winery.

The new Wine Centre celebrations continue at the new Riverland Budburst Festival, which will be a day filled with local music, local food and local Pike River wines.

Festival-goers can eat Pike River rustic gourmet pizzas, cheese and local produce platters, HYB burgers and mini sliders, as well as Arrosto coffee.

The music on the day will be provided by local musicians, Alyssa Spilsbury and Darren Warner. Alyssa will be doing an acoustic set from 11am – 4pm. Following this, internationally recognised Darren will play with his band from 4pm – 6pm.
