Barossa’s newest boutique winery and cellar door, Tweedies Gully Estate invites you to enjoy harp, guitar, mandolin and soaring harmonies this weekend

Discover Tweedies Gully Estate, the Barossa’s newest boutique winery with a stylish cellar door, heritage accommodation and a warm, personal welcome.

Barossa’s newest boutique winery has quietly opened its gates, and it’s already impressing visitors. Tweedies Gully Estate brings together a freshly renovated cellar door, small-batch wines, and an accommodation experience that wraps history and style into one very pretty package.

The estate is tucked into a natural gully lined with gums, where a winter creek winds its way through the property, creating the perfect backdrop for something special.

In the middle of it all sits an 1890s settlers cottage, now restored into a polished yet homely Airbnb. Co-owners Dorham and Emma Pfeiffer live and work on site, with Dorham crafting the wines and Emma putting her touch on every corner of the guesthouse and cellar door.

“The gully is just beautiful, with natural bushland and a creek that changes with the seasons. It’s a place where people can slow down, relax, and really enjoy what the Barossa has to offer,” Dorham says.

The cottage keeps that feeling alive, offering vineyard views and a verandah that practically insists you sit with a glass in hand as the sun dips behind the hills.

Open Thursday to Sunday from 11am to 4pm, the cellar door gives guests the rare chance to taste side-by-side vintages and regions.

Dorham hosts the tastings himself, taking visitors through single-vineyard wines such as the 1994-planted Barossa Shiraz, Merlot, and Mataro, along with Adelaide Hills Sparkling, Adelaide Hills Syrah, and Eden Valley Riesling.

Two premium non-alcoholic wines also tip a hat to Dorham’s father, a former Penfolds winemaker who helped pioneer alcohol-free wine in Australia.

“We wanted to create a cellar door that feels personal,” says Dorham. “I love sitting down with guests, talking them through the wines, and letting them taste how different regions and vintages can tell their own stories.”

That approach has already earned glowing feedback from early visitors, with intimate groups booking private tastings by the fire or in the garden.

Guests can pre-order a platter for their visit, and with space for up to 75 people, the venue is already on the radar for small weddings, private celebrations, and special events.

Wintersong in the Barossa, presented by Musewood

The Pfeiffers are also using the property to champion local talent. On Sunday 24 August, Tweedies will host Wintersong in the Barossa, presented by Musewood. This ticketed afternoon will feature harp, guitar, mandolin and soaring harmonies, with wine and platters available as the music drifts through the gully.

For Dorham and Emma, it’s about offering something authentic – a warm welcome, thoughtful wines, and a setting that invites people to linger. And if the early whispers are anything to go by, Tweedies Gully Estate is set to become one of the Barossa’s most memorable new stops.
