Two Greek Boys on Unley Road has rebranded and is now known as Greek Street. The change comes as part of a shift towards a more fun, family-oriented vibe that reflects the spirit of its owners – husband and wife Anthony and Effie, along with Effie’s sister, Karla.
While Two Greek Boys was originally owned by other family members, the current owners wanted to refresh it to reflect their vision and style, with the new vibe reminiscent of the eateries you might find in Mykonos. It’s always been a family business, with their mum often helping out and a strong, close-knit atmosphere that makes the restaurant what it is.

The biggest change between the old Two Greek Boys and the newly rebranded Greek Street is the increased presence of the owners themselves and a stronger focus on creating a fun and adaptable restaurant culture.
“We live in Australia, so we wanted it to be a bit more multicultural and have something on the menu for everyone, whether they are vegetarian or vegan,” Effie says.
“We wanted to make it more of a restaurant feel. It was too much of a takeaway feel before,” Karla says.
While the food at Greek Street still has the same heart and soul, the owners have expanded the menu to include more options like a beetroot salad, crispy pita, deep-fried for extra crunch, and fresh fish that’s crumbed in-house. Of course, the iconic yiros remains their best seller.
“Everything is done ourselves now. Nothing is really store bought. It’s all handmade,” Effie says.

Along with the revamped menu, Greek Street has also undergone a makeover to match its new identity. While the changes are still underway, the space is already beginning to feel more modern. All the signage has been updated, and the tables have been painted white for a fresh new Greek-inspired look.
“It’s happening slowly, but it’s getting there,” Karla says.
The goal is to make customers feel like they’re actually in Greece, even if it’s not quite the same as being there. “It’s not Greece, nothing will ever be,” says Effie, “but you get a taste of it.”
Whereas the old Two Greek Boys had more of an industrial feel, Greek Street is bringing in elements of Greek culture with a personal touch. The decor now features family trinkets, parts of grandparents’ olive trees, fresh olive oil from the family’s own supply, and even fig trees.

Last Friday January 17th, Greek Street held its official launch party, and received great feedback from the community on the rebrand. The family is confident that Greek Street stands out among other Greek restaurants across Adelaide because of their flexibility and willingness to grow.
“If we have a customer come in, we want it to feel like you’re in our house,” Effie says. “If customers want to have a drink, I’ll have one with them.”
As of Monday February 3rd, Greek Street will have new trading hours, opening every day of the week. It’s a brand new chapter for the family-run restaurant, and they’re excited to share it with their loyal customers.
