Today, Zara celebrated the reopening of its refurbished store in Burnside Village Shopping Centre. This significant renovation reveals the brand’s commitment to blending cutting-edge technology with customer-focused retail experiences. The store, which first opened its doors in 2011, now spans nearly 2,000 square metres and is split over two levels, marking it as a major retail presence in the area.
Zara’s latest update embraces a strategy that aligns with parent company Inditex’s vision for futuristic retail environments. With this refurbishment, the store incorporates advanced technological tools designed to unify the in-store and online shopping experiences.
The inclusion of these tools aims to provide a seamless and efficient shopping experience in an inviting and sustainable setting. The focus on space quality and layout ensures that customers enjoy browsing in an environment that is both spacious and innovative.
The interior design of the revamped store uses a clean, white, and neutral palette accented by wooden furnishings and natural textile hues to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. This aesthetic carries across both floors of the store, which house the Women’s, Men’s, and Kid’s collections. Accessibility between these levels is facilitated by escalators and a lift.
A major highlight of the Burnside Village store is its integration with Zara’s latest retail technology. The store features services interconnected with Zara’s mobile application.
Customers can reserve fitting rooms, search for items within the store, place orders for collection within two hours, and verify stock availability, all through their smartphones. The store also offers an assisted checkout area, improving the efficiency of the shopping experience.
In terms of operational efficiency, the Burnside Village store includes several energy-saving measures. These include advanced heating and cooling systems, LED lighting, and the use of environmentally sustainable materials.
The store connects to Inditex’s Inergy internal platform, which helps in managing and optimising energy consumption, improving maintenance schedules, and reducing energy demand through strategic planning.
These sustainability efforts are part of Zara’s broader initiative to minimise its ecological footprint. The store not only focuses on energy efficiency but also gives importance to the reuse and recycling of resources.
Inditex, the global fashion entity to which Zara belongs, operates over 200 markets and includes brands like Pull&Bear, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Stradivarius, Oysho, and Zara Home.
Inditex has been pioneering an integrated store and digital platform while focusing on environmental sustainability. The group has set ambitious goals to achieve climate neutrality by 2040.
