Adelaide’s coffee scene has a new player, with Zarraffa’s Coffee officially opening its first flagship South Australian store in Munno Para. The launch marks a major milestone for the Queensland-born brand, which has more than 80 locations across Australia and has chosen Adelaide’s north as the home of its next phase.
The Munno Para drive-thru site is just the beginning following Zarraffa’s Coffee’s acquisition of Adelaide-based specialty group First Things First Coffee earlier this year.
The move signals the start of a larger state-wide rollout, bringing the popular drive thru experience to local Adelaide coffee lovers, with four more sites to convert and new stores planned for South Australia.

The new store is proudly owned and operated by Bill and Claire Zavos, alongside their sons Sam and Dillon, who already run four successful Zarraffa’s stores in Queensland. Originally from Adelaide, the family have returned to their roots to bring the brand they love to the city’s thriving coffee community.
The team have confirmed that within the first day of trade, Zarraffa’s Coffee Munno Para sold over 1,500 drinks and had nearly 1,000 customers come through on opening day.
“It’s incredibly special for us to steer the operations of Zarraffa’s Coffee’s first South Australian store, starting in Munno Para where we have strong community ties,” Franchisee Bill Zavos said.
“We can’t wait to serve locals their daily cup and create opportunities for people in the area.”
The Munno Para location will employ more than 30 locals through a dedicated training and recruitment program, offering Zarraffa’s signature coffee blends, baked goods, breakfast items and savoury snacks.
The store has been designed around speed and convenience, using a compact drive-thru model that also includes a walk-up window for those on foot.

Zarraffa’s Coffee Founder and Managing Director, Kenton Campbell, said the launch represented a defining moment in the company’s almost 30-year history.
“For us, South Australia has always been on the horizon and now we are proud to say we’re finally here, ready to fly our flag in Adelaide,” Kenton said.
“This is not just about opening a store, it’s about growing our family, strengthening our connection with local coffee-loving communities, and setting the foundation for further brand expansion across the state.”
“Earlier this year, we took a bold step with the acquisition to accelerate our expansion plans. The move not only reinforced our commitment to the Adelaide market, but it created a meaningful bridge between Zarraffa’s heritage and the local coffee legacy that was built by the First Things First Coffee founders.”
Zarraffa’s has grown from humble beginnings on the Gold Coast to locations across Queensland, New South Wales, Western Australia and now South Australia. The brand has plans to expand to 200 stores nationally before the 2032 Brisbane Olympics, with a focus on sustainable, community-driven growth.
“Our ambition in South Australia still remains clear – to grow sustainably, authentically and with great respect for local values and the vibrant coffee culture. Munno Para is our cornerstone, and with the Zavos family at the helm, it’s just the beginning of what we aim to build across Adelaide,” added Mr Campbell.
