South Terrace is getting a makeover as part of a $10 million renovation by Event Hospitality and Entertainment.
The Terrace Hotel Adelaide has opened in place of what was formerly the Sage Hotel, offering four-star accommodation and 136 total rooms––both standard and executive. They also have the Terrace Bar & Kitchen, which has meals made with fresh local produce from the Adelaide Hills, seafood from Port Lincoln, and Australian beef and wines from Coonawarra.
The hotel is the first of three new hotels set to enliven Adelaide’s South, with the brand-new HotelMOTEL opening next door to the Terrace Hotel mid-September, and another hotel opening in place of the Chifley on South Terrace next year.
HotelMOTEL, to open in just a few months, is described by the Terrace Hotel’s General Manager Samantha Farrington as “contemporary retro.”
“It will be a fully renovated property with a very contemporary motel offering,” Farrington says.
“It’s a hotel within a motel, an exciting concept set to pave the way for the precinct.”
The third of the new hotels is yet to be named, but it will be a completely renovated space in what was formerly the Chifley on South Terrace. Set to be the flagship property of the new hotels, the 4.5-star offering will have a contemporary fit out. All three hotels are set to be completed by around July, 2022.
Farrington is looking forward to creating a surge of tourism on South Terrace.
“This is an ongoing project that will work to revitalise South Terrace, bringing a new hospitality precinct to the area,” she says.
“I’m excited for what’s to come.”
