Fit for a Princess: Zara leaves lasting impression in SA

Zara stunned South Australians during her recent visit choosing to suppoprt local and opting to wear garments from local designers

British royal couple Zara and Mike Tindall have left a lasting impression on the people of South Australia during their visit to Adelaide.

The Olympic equestrian rider and daughter of Princess Anne and former rugby union player were here as part of their visit Down Under following Mike’s appearance on I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! And they made the most of their visit, supporting South Australian fashion designers, businesses and their love of motorsport.

Firstly, the couple of nearly 20 years, kicked off their arrival with a trip trackside as ambassadors for the VALO Adelaide 500. Course car rides, pit paddock tours, trophy presentations and meeting some of Australia’s top Supercar drivers were among the highlights.

Then it was a change of pace, with an appearance at the State Dinner, at the Adelaide Convention Centre hosted by Premier the Hon Peter Malinauskas. Proud husband Mike shared a photo on his Instagram account, showing him smiling alongside his glamorous wife.  Zara wore a billowing ballgown, designed by Young Australian of the Year Paul Vasileff, his international couture label, Paolo Sebastian, a renowned high-end Adelaide fashion designer, which featured a delicate off-the shoulder silhouette, train and belted waistline. It was picture perfect in a serene sky-blue hue with a cinched in waist and layers of wispy mesh fabric across the bust.

The following day saw a trip to Port Willunga’s iconic Star of Greece for lunch hosted by ex-premier Mike Rann. There, the couple enjoyed the best of South Australian seafood complimented by breathtaking views of the ocean and warm summer sunshine. Then onto the world renowned d’Arenberg Cube for wine tasting and a tour of the Cube.

Iconic Bird in Hand Winery was next, with Six Feet Under and Muriel’s Wedding star Rachel Griffiths, where the pair were treated to the best in South Australian wines and a private dinner. Zara wore a stunning light blue full sleeve dress by South Australian affordable luxury label Acler.

Next up was a trip trackside to the VALO 500, Adelaide’s annual motorsport racing event for the Supercars. It was there where Mike posted a loved-up snap of the couple as well as a video of himself on Instagram from the inside of a corvette. Zara however, turned heads in another Acler dress, so chic and on point for the event.

For her trip to Adelaide, fashion insiders worked with Zara’s stylists in the UK to put her wardrobe together. Zara was fond of all the outfits she wore and especially enjoyed working with Paul Vasileff and Sally Phillips, with whom she had private fittings with.

Zara has previously worn Acler when in Australia as Ambassador for Magic Millions.
