Families across Salisbury can look forward to refreshed local play spaces, with five neighbourhood playgrounds set to undergo upgrades over the next two months.

The works, announced by the City of Salisbury, are designed to introduce a wider range of engaging and inclusive play features for children of all ages. New equipment will include slides, swings, see-saws, flying foxes and climbing walls, giving local kids more ways to play, explore and stay active close to home.

To ensure the upgrades are completed safely and efficiently, each playground will be temporarily closed while construction is underway.

Kiekebusch Road Reserve will be the first to receive an upgrade, closing from Monday 2nd of March through to the end of March. Amsterdam Crescent Reserve will also close from Monday 2nd of March, with works expected to continue until early April.

Later in the month, Patterson Court Reserve and Heyford Reserve will both close from Monday the 16th of March, with upgrades scheduled to run through to mid-April. Norwich Road Reserve will follow, closing from Monday, 23rd of March until the end of April.

Council has shared concept images showing how the upgraded playgrounds will look once works are complete, giving families a glimpse of the modern play equipment and improved layouts planned for each site.

Residents are encouraged to plan ahead during the temporary closures and to keep an eye out for further updates as construction progresses. Once finished, the upgraded playgrounds are expected to provide safer, more engaging spaces that support active play and community connection across the Salisbury area.
