Adelaide’s hottest new venue has landed in the Southern suburbs and it’s shaping up to be the next ‘it’ spot.

Dripping in 50s retro charm, Fleet Street Social’s laid back and funky vibe is the perfect setting for an arvo drink and a boogie and with its ideal location in the heart of Port Noarlunga, it perfectly fills the South’s cocktail-bar shaped hole.

But it’s not just a cocktail bar. Open from 11am every day, Fleet Street Social is serving up a delicious share plate menu and serves as a cool place to pop past for lunch as well.

Co-Owner, Head Chef and Port Noarlunga local Adam McGuiness saw what was missing in the area and took the opportunity to fill it.

“A lot of places down South are closed Monday and Tuesday so we wanted to offer a lunch service to the locals,” he said.

“We wanted to bring something different down South so when this location opened up, I jumped on it. I grew up down here and have so much love for the area and now I get to work here.”

Adam has been a chef on the Adelaide scene for the past 10 years and after making a splash in the industry with his pop-up burger shop Loud Burger Co back in 2020, he decided it was time to create something new for himself so he teamed up with good mate Jayden Broughman and together they created Fleet Street Social.

The venue takes over the old Boony’s site on Saltfleet Street but after a complete overhaul, you’d barely recognise it. The pink and white colour scheme gives it a chic vintage feel (complete with baby pink booth seating) and the large outdoor area is perfect for settling in and embracing the laid-back culture that the South is famous for.

Adam’s sister and Front of House Manager expressed her excitement in bringing Fleet Street to Port Noarlunga.

“We turned the place around in 9 weeks so it was very quick,” she says “But Adam had a vision and we knew it was something the South was missing and we’re so happy with how it’s turned out and we can’t wait to share it with everyone.”

Offering an all-day menu, Fleet Street also boasts a Feed Me menu – something that is hard to find outside of the city.

“Not many places do a Feed Me down here so we wanted to bring the experience down South.” Lisa says.

Let Adam do the hard work by picking his favourite dishes and if you’re so inclined, choose to have the meals expertly paired with wines, gins or cocktails. The dishes are all designed to be shared which works out well because with selections like grilled rainbow trout, Japanese fried chicken and sticky roasted pork belly you’d be hard done by trying to choose just one.

Adam and Jayden have opted for a higher-end drinks selection so while you’ll be able to get your standard beers, there’ll be a focus on top-shelf whiskies and premium champagne with the wine list boasting some excellent local drops from McLaren Vale and local Maslins winemakers Ivy Brook Farm.

And of course, there is an amazing selection of cocktails. Again, you’ll be able to get the classics but it’s the signature Fleet Street cocktails and jugs that are the winner. Need help deciding? The Blueberry Mojitio and Fleet Street Gin and Juice are a great place to start.

With such an amazing space, the guys are utilising it to the max with live acoustic music to set the scene on Saturdays and Sundays and DJs every night from Friday – Sunday.

Fleet Street Social is located at 1/32 Saltfleet St, Port Noarlunga SA 5167 and is open 7 days a week from 11am – late.
