Fleurieu Chocolate Company will officially open its doors this long weekend after the success of its sister company, Barossa Valley Chocolate Company, offering people from Southern Adelaide and surrounding communities the opportunity to experience their award-winning chocolate.
Fleurieu Chocolate Company will be located within the quaint and newly-renovated Vineyard Road Cellar Door at Langhorne Creek, nestled between McLaren Vale and the Adelaide Hills and close to Strathalbyn.
Just 55 minutes from Adelaide, the Fleurieu’s newest tourist attraction is also home to Vineyard Road and luxury natural skincare brand Vasse Virgin, allowing customers to indulge in some pampering with their chocolate and wine.
The Fleurieu Chocolate Company’s products will be made in the Barossa Valley Chocolate Company’s state-of-the-art kitchen by their award-winning team of chocolatiers. The products available will include dark, milk and white chocolate, alongside enrobed chocolate, mixed bags and family favourites like Rocky Road and freckles.

Their newest edition, Franki the Fleurieu Koala which is the sweet cousin of Benni the Barossa Koala. Like Benni the Barossa Koala a portion of the monies raised from Franki will be donated to the Adelaide Koala Rescue, a not-for-profit charity that runs a free koala rescue and rehabilitation service for the South Australian community.
The CEO of the Fleurieu Chocolates and Barossa Valley Chocolates, Chris Day, said, “We have been so overwhelmed by how the local Barossa and Adelaide community has embraced Barossa Valley Chocolate Company.
We now want to give people from Southern Adelaide and surrounding towns the opportunity to experience our award-winning chocolate – and experiences like our famous chocolate and wine pairing – a bit closer to their homes.”
The FABAL Group have big plans for their new offering. Chris said, “While our chocolate will be made initially at the Barossa Valley Chocolate Company, we have future plans for seriously expanding our little cellar door in Langhorne Creek and to add a café, winery and chocolate kitchen so products can also be made on site.”
Fleurieu Chocolates will open this weekend with visitors to the cellar door able to enjoy chocolate and wine tasting in a gorgeous vineyard setting.
