With over 60 of the best national and local artists, this year’s acts encompass a vast horizon of music showcasing genres including indie-pop, emotive ballads, Americana, Celtic, Blues country contemporary folk and more.
As South Australia’s largest folk music festival, visitors can enjoy a three-day celebration of music in the glorious Fleurieu wine region of Willunga from the 15 – 17 October.
With workshops, musical theatre performances, poetry sessions and children’s entertainment as well as local food, wine and market stalls, there truly is something for everyone with camping available onsite for hardcore Folk music lovers.
2021 celebrates 15 years of the festival promoting and presenting International (pre-Covid), Interstate and South Australian artists, ensuring continued growth for the Folk Music industry.
The event, run entirely by volunteers, was awarded Community Event of the Year by City of Onkaparinga in 2014, 2016 and 2019.
The dedicated event committee and volunteers work tirelessly to ensure the Folk Festival remains a flagship event in the SA festival calendar, which prides itself on being a family friendly, affordable Folk Festival. Audience participation is encouraged through workshops, blackboard concerts, children’s trail and volunteering.
The eclectic genre and the jam-packed program features class performers at every turn. Headline acts and performers are carefully selected to showcase a variety of enjoyable musical experiences for all.
A number of workshops are also available throughout the Festival weekend including song writing and voice, spoken word, and instrument playing.
