Adelaide’s beloved Mercury Cinema is hosting a special two-night festival of dance films: Flow: Dance on Screen
Both nights will run with a pair of 50 minute sessions of short film: the first, a curated selection from emerging Australasian talent with: Take (Victoria Hunt, Margot Nash) (NSW); 2 of 2 (Kirsty Lee) (NSW); Interstice, (Mitchell Aldridge) (WA); Don’t Stop the Dance, (Carolyn Sylvester) (NZ); Nobuyoshi (Sue Healey) (NSW); The Gods of Tiny Things (Deborah Kelly) (NSW); and The Circadian Circle (Garry Stewart) (SA)
International choices presented by Cinedans On Tour, the very best of the acclaimed Amsterdam festival’s 2021 season, include: Inside/Outside (Carolina Romillo Marin, Claudia Iglesias Ungo); Memories of the Future (Danscollectief Arnhemse Meisjes); Ali (Rain Kencana); Akin (Stephan Cornelio Velema, Virgil Denzel Dey); Awake (Rumi Kaul, Janiro Ottens, Jinko Adams); Out of Body (Pascal Beugre-Telier, Briére Eddy).
Night two includes a curated selection from emerging Australasian talent including: Everything I Know (Anna Paddick, Vanessa White) (VIC); Alice With Black Mattress (Siobhan Murphy) (VIC); Still Life, Ineritus/Tabeo/Vanitas (Ryan Renshaw) (QLD); Assemble (Kimberly Summer) (VIC); Call to the Stone (Asher Bowen-Saunders) (QLD); and Kindred (Xin Hui Ong) (WA).
Night two’s international choices presented by Cinedans On Tour, the very best of the acclaimed Amsterdam Festival’s 2021 season include: Le Faune (Joseph Simon); In Plain Sight (Tanin Torabi); Simulacra (Curry Tian, Cailyn Rice, Taylor Unwin); Leather (Thomas Bos, Erik Bos); It Starts With a (Heart)Beat (Mikki Sindhunata, Lucinda Wessels); Never Twenty One (Kanouté Smaïl, Henri Coutant, Kevin Gay); and Fibonacci (Tomáš Hubáček, Marie Gourdain).
Flow screens over two nights: Friday September 17th, and Saturday September 18th at Mercury Cinema.
