The new stores opening at Adelaide Airport this month are like beautiful butterflies emerging from a long hibernation.

In anticipation of frenzied passengers that are arriving into the state as a result of border restrictions easing, Adelaide Airport has refreshed its range of shops, restaurants and services on offer.

Last year, the nation faced strict lockdown restrictions due to COVID-19, bringing an end to family festivities and travel plans before they could even begin. But this year, Adelaide Airport is preparing to uplift its passengers flying home for Christmas for the big family reunions they missed last year.

Just before the state borders re-opened on Tuesday, new retailers and restaurants opened at the airport, so passengers have even more options to choose from for buying last-minute Christmas presents or treating themselves to a meal before their journey.

The opening of the new facilities also coincides with the re-opening of several retail stores and dining outlets including the Penfolds Wine Bar & Kitchen, Soul Origin and Precinct Kitchen to cater for increasing passenger numbers.

The new international departures hall is three times the size of the old facility so prepare for a further announcement on new stores donning the departures hall.

Other new stores in the domestic terminal include a JB-Hifi for all your tech needs, the newly refurbished Coopers Alehouse, Lego Kaboom, Boost Juice and Soho Coffee to fulfil all your caffeine needs before your long flight.

A renovated WHSmith has taken the tenancy of the old Airport Newsagent located in the Qantas end of the terminal.

Along with fine dining and world-class shopping, Adelaide Airport has partnered with Music SA to present ‘Adelaide Sounds’.

The live music exhibition is performed weekly by local emerging artists on Fridays between 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm opposite Gate 14.

The new retail experience at Adelaide Airport is the gift that keeps on giving, just in time for the SA borders to re-open to travellers.

Next time you’re travelling, be sure to arrive at the airport a little earlier to enjoy the sounds whilst shopping, dining or simply relaxing with a glass of wine at Penfolds before taking off!
