Flying Boats Are Coming To Adelaide

SuperFoiler Grand Prix is holding its launch in Adelaide before continuing around to five other iconic marine locations across Australia.

If you’re anything like us, in that you spend a majority of your life on land, you likely haven’t heard of this new-fangled thing called a Hydrofoil, and if you have, you likely don’t know very much about it.

Well, it’s actually not as new-fangled as you’d think, with first prototypes dating back to 1898. To help us explain to you what this boat actually is, we consulted the incredibly-reliable Simple English Wikipedia, who said, “A hydrofoil is a type of boat that can lift its hull out of the water with a pair of special wings underwater.” Essentially, by doing this it allows the boat to move faster because there’s less drag and makes the boat look like it’s flying – for real.

To celebrate this innovative boating design, the SuperFoiler Grand Prix is holding its launch in Adelaide before continuing around to five other iconic marine locations across Australia.

On Friday 2 February until Sunday 4 February, you’ll be able to head down to Outer Harbour and relish in the transformation of the harbour into a high-speed race track as the SuperFoiler series goes soaring in the South Australian capital. Catch a glimpse of the world’s best sailors racing at scorching speeds on the planet’s fastest foiling machines.

With all the amenities befitting a world-class facility, the luxury setting enjoys gun barrel views of a race-course designed with the SuperFoiler Grand Prix’s guests front of mind.

Viewing the action is completely free so bring family, friends and some sunscreen to witness our six SuperFoilers bump and nudge for supremacy over the 2km racecourse – with three races every single day. Corporate Hospitality tickets (over 18’s) are available for purchase on the link above. Daily tickets include three races, four hours on the water, premium food and beverages, race commentary & race Calcutta.
