SALA Festival

Follow the heart of Goodwood SALA trail and win Goody dollars

This is the 7th year Goody Road has joined in the SALA Festival and once again artists and shops, businesses, restaurants and cafes have embraced the month long festival with enthusiasm.

SALA in the Heart of Goodwood is providing lots of bright spots on Goody Road.

In the tiny Candela Latin American eatery on Goodwood Road, Marie Jonnson-Harrison’s “Keeping Your Spirits up in 2020” SALA Festival exhibition certainly captures the mood.

“We’re delighted to have Marie’s work on display for SALA” said Mijail Alarcon, the gregarious and sometime mine host at Candela.

“It’s bright and lively, just what we needed.”

This is the 7th year Goody Road has joined in the SALA Festival and once again artists and shops, businesses, restaurants and cafes have embraced the month long festival with enthusiasm.

The work of Tracy Curran at Pretty Petals is another bright spot, while Angus Rayner’s “Cheeky but not Crude” exhibition at Cru Tapas Bar and Kitchen will bring a smile to your face.

And it’s not all about paintings, Suzie Messenger’s Tea Cosies in the Goodwood Library and Boulangerie 113 will warm you up and look for the butterflies which are fluttering around the strip.

Check out the new wall art “Nocturne” at Whisk Patisserie too and “Be an Angel” and take your photo in front of the wings in the window of The Basin Haircutters.

The road will celebrate SALA on Saturday 22, from 10am ’til 1pm with a SALA Sat’dy on Goody.

“It will have a different element this time, as some of our usual Sat’dy activities can’t take place” said Chairperson of the Business Association Shane Chamings.

“It’s a Goody SALA Trail. People can pick up (and drop off) a guide at the Goodwood Bendigo Community Bank and head off to view the exhibitions and answer some questions. We’ll draw 3 winners, each to win $50 to spend at the Goody Road destination of their choice.”

“There’ll also be a kid’s arty crafty activity, buskers, and some of our Artists will be present at their venue for a chat.”

With a pretty ordinary weather forecast for Saturday, some SALA Sat’dy on Goody activities have been postponed from 22 August to 29 August.

The Goody SALA Trail where you could win one of 3 x $50 Goody Dollars prizes, will now run next week from 24 to 31 August. Check Goodwood Road’s socials for more details.
