Food fundraiser to support Palestinian refugees coming to SA in February

A special food fundraiser called Palestine on a Plate is coming to Adelaide this February at the Olive Branch Cafe.

A special food fundraiser called Palestine on a Plate is coming to South Australia this February, hosted by Circle of Friends Australia at the Olive Branch Cafe in Balhannah. The event will bring a delicious taste of Palestinian cuisine, with all dishes inspired by top Palestinian cookbooks. The best part is that by attending, you’ll be helping Palestinian refugees in Australia and around the world.

The food at Palestine on a Plate is set to take guests on a colourful journey through Palestine, with a variety of shared savoury and sweet plates. Each dish will be prepared using authentic recipes from celebrated Palestinian cookbooks, giving guests the opportunity to taste traditional flavours and dishes. There will be a selection of shared appetizers, mains, and desserts, all filled with aromatic flavours that make Palestinian cuisine so adored worldwide.

As well as enjoying delicious food, guests will also be supporting an important cause. The fundraiser is organised by Circle of Friends Australia, a 100% volunteer-run charity that helps Palestinian refugees and their families, both in South Australia and abroad.

All the money raised from the event will go directly to helping Palestinian refugees who are going through challenging times, many of who are facing financial struggles. They also help refugees bring their family members to Australia, which is a difficult and expensive process, especially for those trying to bring loved ones out of Gaza.

There are many ways you can help support Palestine on a Plate and make a real difference. You can of course attend the event by purchasing tickets, but they are are expected to sell out quickly, so grab them while you can. If you’re looking for a thoughtful gift, consider buying tickets for someone else. It’s a great present for food lovers, and a unique one for anyone who wants to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others.

Another way to help is by sponsoring a refugee to attend the dinner. Refugees are invited to the event for free, and your sponsorship means that those who need it most can join the celebration. Or lastly, you can also support the cause by purchasing raffle tickets during the event, with great prizes on offer.

The more tickets and raffle tickets sold, the more funds can be raised to support refugees in need. Circle of Friends Australia encourages everyone to help spread the word about the event. Your support will help make this event a success, and raise important funds for Palestinian refugees.
