Food Truck Feast returns to Adelaide Uni’s Barr Smith Lawns on May 7, promising a delicious lunch for Adelaide University students, complete with drinks, entirely for free! Proudly hosted by Adelaide University Student Association (AUSA), the event has proved a massive hit in the past, and is the perfect way to lead students into the new semester with positive vibes and satisfying eats.
Students only need to show their Student ID upon entry, to be eligible for a free food and drink voucher, and there’s something on the menu to suit all palates, including vegan, halal, and gluten-free options.
The six vendors that will be competing to combat those grumbling bellies come from some of Adelaide’s best and most-loved food venues: Gang Gang, Athena Greek Eats, Braising Boy, Cheesy Street, Let Them Eat, and Gourmet Grillerz.
Follow your tastebuds and choose from chicken and veggie burgers, yiros dripping with spit-roasted chicken or homemade falafels, brisket tacos, mac oozing with cheese, fritters and salad in assorted flavours, and a crowd fave, Vienna or soy hotdogs. Have we tempted you yet? Don’t forget every student’s late-night staples to get you through those crazy study sessions – energy drinks and hot coffee! Enjoy a bevvie from Caffettiera Carts, Remedy Drinks, and of course, Red Bull.
Come for the food, stay for the entertainment. On the cards are giant lawn games, a craft station with ‘paint your own’ mugs, a DJ, and more to be announced on the day. Gather your friends on the lawn and kick back with good food, good company and energising drinks, and celebrate the new semester on a high. Yes, there is such a thing as a free lunch, so go on, indulge yourself – no strings attached! – You deserve it.
