Very big things are happening on the Torrens Riverbank this summer, and here at Glam we are VERY excited! The ultimate foodies paradise is joining R Bar at the bottom of the newly completed East Building at the Adelaide Convention Centre.
It’s been dubbed Home Ground and we certainly intend to make it such! Pretty sure the area’s going to tick all the food and bar boxes, including featuring a celebratory pop-up bar that opens this weekend!
Home Ground is set to be the best new dining precinct in Adelaide, with amazing views over the Torrens and Adelaide Oval and a kit out by the AMAZING guys over a Studio-Gram (responsible for Osteria Oggi, Mr Goodbar, and Motel Mexicola in Bali – just to name a few!).
Home Ground café court will delight our tastebuds with three new permanent venues: Goodbuns Diner, Sage Delicatessen and the Home Ground Bar. The new dining precinct also incorporates the well-established R Bar, known for its casual, seasonal menus and panoramic river views.
Goodbuns Diner will be open for lunch and dinner daily, offering a modern twist on Americana classic favourites including burgers, hot dogs, southern fried chicken, slow-cooked beef brisket and more.

Sage Delicatessen is the venue our brunch dreams are made of. Using local produce to tempt us with smashed avo, chia pods, poké bowls and more!

Of course, there’s a bar, which we might be drawn to on Friday nights to come (or even Wednesday lunchtimes, who knows!). Home Ground Bar features an extensive beverage list complemented by the necessary bar snacks.
As if three new permanent venues isn’t enough, we’re getting constantly changing pop-up local venues!! We’ve been let on to the secret of some of what’s to come over the opening period, and a Gin & Spritz Bar (right up our alley!), presented by Adelaide Hills Distillery AND a pop-up Oyster Bar serving freshly shucked Smoky Bay oysters complemented by Adelaide Hills Sparkling. This is some local producer support we can get around!
Lunch at Sage Delicatessen
To celebrate Home Ground’s opening, a special summer pop-up will be held on the Adelaide Riverbank Lawns (immediately in front of the Adelaide Convention Centre), from Saturday 2 – Wednesday 6 December. Open daily 10am till late, the Home Ground Summer Pop-Up will provide the ultimate ‘chill’ zone for visitors to the Riverbank Precinct with shaded lounge areas, food trucks, bars, nightly entertainment and all the sporting action of The Ashes live on a big screen.
Home Ground will adopt special operating hours across its launch period and be open from 8am to late, 2 – 6 December. After this period, regular operating hours will be 8am – 8pm. For further information, visit the Home Ground website.
