Kitten season is well and truly here, and to make the best of a busy situation, the Purrfect Paws Rescue charity organisation are throwing a kitten shower in Melrose Park on Saturday, November 23rd. Located in front of the Petbarn store in Melrose Plaza, the team have put together a range of activities throughout the day to raise funds and awareness for their mission.
Based from the south of Adelaide through to Normanville in the Fleurieu Peninsula, Purrfect Paws Rescue Incorporated are a passionate group of volunteers dedicated to rescuing and nurturing vulnerable animals and finding them loving forever homes. Kitten season has hit the rescue hard, and currently, they need all the help they can get:
“In the last few weeks, we have had numerous mumma cats give birth in our rescue. Lima Bean and her 6 ginger babies, Missy and her 5 kittens, Jiggly Puff with her 3 babies and Dora and her 4 kittens! We also have soon to be mumma Nala, 4 sweet, orphaned bottle fed babies and beautiful siblings, Orca & Moon”.
“We have saved a litter of orphaned kittens, who were found feeding on their mother after she died from a snake bite. We have multiple dumped/abandoned litters, most who still need bottle feeding and vet care.”
“Sadly our funds are low, and with all these kittens born at the same time, we need to raise money for their ongoing care, as well as their vet work once they are older enough.”
As part of the fundraiser and kitten shower, there will be activities and games to participate in, raffles and prizes to be won, a donation drive to contribute to, market stalls to browse, and rescue representatives available to offer information on fostering and volunteering. There will also be a variety of kitten profiles to look through, so you can meet some foster carers and learn everything about the kittens they have available for adoption.
