Forget Food Event, This Is a Food Experience That You Won’t Want To Miss

When you see what you are talking about you will be buying a ticket ASAP…

It wouldn’t be news for us to tell you that South Australia has some of the best produce in the world… What would be news though, is the announcement of one absolutely phenomenal food event coming to Adelaide as part of this year’s Tasting Australia that will celebrate the best of our state’s amazing produce.

Warning: this may induce sever drooling and hunger pains. On May 7 the food event geniuses from Out in the Paddock, along with food photographer, food event planner and food consultant Dougal Mcfuzzlebutt of Mcfuzzlebutt’s Manchen (yes, he really loves food) are bringing us their “Floating Feast”.

Getting amongst this food fiesta will be The Roaming Spit, Chocolat By Daniela, Torbreck Wines, and Vale Brewing, along with some help from Sam Worral-Thompson from Kichen + Catering by Sam. And as if this all wasn’t already South Australian enough, did we mention that the event will be held on the iconic Popeye? Well it isn’t called a “Floating Feast” for nothing…

If we haven’t painted a beautiful and delicious enough picture then let us continue with this… The progressive feast will include the opportunity for guests to interact with the producers as they enjoy stunningly prepared food and perfectly complimentary drinks. The five course menu will include produce from Richard Gunner and Schu-Am Pork.

With Out in the Paddock (OITP) at the helm we have no doubt that this will be one ridiculously spectacular experience. Because that is what they are so good at… Creating an experience for their lucky guests.

Having started OITP simply because of his love for local South Australian produce combined with hosting events, the original concept was to host long table meals in the paddocks of local producers. With a continued passion for that, owner Ray Dahdah has seen his business branch out into hosting and catering for private events.

They have organised some absolutely outstanding events including the installation of a birchwood structure with approximately 30 hanging vintage globes in one of their client’s backyard for her fortieth birthday, transforming a client’s house for an intimate Christmas lunch, turning a function centre into an Italian Village for a fiftieth and much more. That much more includes one of their best…

Working with the City Of Adelaide Clipper Ship in Port Adelaide, one of the oldest Clipper Ships remaining in the world, they were commissioned in November last year to host the first dinner on board the amazingly historic ship. The black tie event was included guest Lord Mayor Martin Haese, who along with everyone else who undertook the experience was left totally speechless.

After the success of that event, they were asked to cater and manage a second dinner event on the ship on February 5, along with a cocktail event on 26 February. We think these pictures speak for themselves…
