Four Out Of The Ordinary Events Not To Be Missed This April

From grape stomping and escaping zombies, to all of the Nutella and life-sized animals made from sand, these events are all a little left of centre and we love them!

Festival season is over. Summer is all but gone. So that means that there is nothing to do in Adelaide, right? Wrong. So Wrong! We have found four events that will have you off of that couch and leaving the half eaten block of choccie behind as you dabble in these totally different experiences…

Nutella-Palooza

We aren’t sure if this one really needs any explanation because, Nutella. But, just in case you wanted some more details let us warn you that you may be drooling when you are done reading. This is a world first as Adelaidians come together to celebrate that gooey choc-hazelnut spread that is like heaven to all tastebuds.

Think Nutella donuts, Nutella pizza, Nutella smoothies, Nutella waffles, Nutella gelato, even Nutella inspired cocktails. Yaaaaaas!

There will also be cooking demonstrations, food trucks, bakeries, a licensed bar area, kids’ entertainment and DJs. Oh and did we mention that this event has FREE entry. Oh lord!

Howard Vineyard’s Harvest Festival

Now you might be thinking a Harvest Festival, that sounds nice and proper. And it will be, but it will also be a whole lotta fun! If you love wine as much as we do (and we love wine), then this event will pop your cork! More than an event, this unique Festival will celebrate all things wine. Literally.

You won’t just be drinking the wine (although there will still be plenty of that), oh no! At what is Howard Vineyard’s first annual Harvest Festival you will get a truly hands on (and feet in) experience. You will help harvest the 2016 AMOS Cabernet Sauvignon with Viticulturalist/Winemaker Tom Northcott and then get down and dirty in the vineyard as you help stomp the fruit for the juice that will also make up a component of the 2016 AMOS wine series. This is wine time on another level…

Wine stomping makes for hard work so no doubt your tummy will be rumbling… Luckily there will be food a plenty as Howard’s Clover Restaurant host a Long Table Asian Banquet. It will be a feast to say the least!

This is definitely one to get involved in!

Howard Vineyard

Sand Sculpting Australia’s A Day at the Zoo

When sand is so much more than sand… Last year the guys over at Sand Sculpting Australia brought us their Princesses and Pirates exhibition. Over 33,000 of you went and saw what was a sand spectacular! But this year it is going to be even bigger, even better and so much sandier as they bring us A Day at the Zoo.

It will be hitting Port Noarlunga this month just in time for school holidays! So grab the kids (but this is for the big kids too) and take a journey through the sand pathways, feel like you are on an African safari and an icy exploration through the Antarctic all at once… From elephants and giraffes to polar bear, and don’t forget the iconic Aussie Koalas! So many animals brought to life in the sand.

Like we said, so much more than sand!
