The event played host to a tasting of the boutique Yarra Valley distillery’s three iconic gins: Rare Dry Gin, Barrel Aged Gin and Gun Powder Proof Gin.

G&Ts with fresh organic blood orange, Martinis and Negronis were served among eager guests while a small number of lovely waiters served generous helpings of visually and gastronomically beautiful canapés.

Four Pillars owners, Stuart Gregor and Cameron Mackenzie, entertained guests with their hearty speeches, both telling tales of the business’ beginnings.

Four Pillars was established in 2013 with the founding ambition was to “make modern Australian gin… without the Australiana”. Before that, the pair had their sights set on making quality Australian tonic, though rather quickly decided to make the alcoholic beverage they both know and love.

The gin distillery is currently based in Yarra Valley at Rob Dolan’s winery, however is looking to expand into their own location soon in the Adelaide Hills.

Four Pilllars’ Barrel Aged Gin, which had a limited release of 900 bottles, cannot be bought online, but can be found in “a few bars around the traps”. Their Gunpowder Proof Gin is set to be launched in a number of weeks.

You can find the Four Pillars Gin range for purchase at The Tasting Room, 23 Vardon Avenue, Adelaide. Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin is available to buy direct online and through selected retailers.
