Frankly Gin is about to be SA’s newest star joining the glorious collection of locally distilled spirits from out state.
Taking out Champion Gin at the 2021 Royal Australian Spirit Awards already, Frankly Gin is the dark horse you’ll want to watch.
Set to launch on Australian Gin Day November 20 at Bowden Cellars, the new gin is locally distilled and South Australian owned by brother and sister duo Frank and Berni Woods.
After two years of development, Frank and Berni are now looking forward to launching Frankly Gin in time for Christmas. When the duo who are originally from the Riverland created the gin, they knew it was something special.
They decided to throw their hats into the ring at the recent Royal Australian Spirit Awards just to see where Frankly Gin sat amongst their competitors.
They walked away winning big taking out Champion Gin, Champion Small Batch and Gold for their Dry Citrus Gin. They also took home the Silver award for Dry Myrtle Gin.
Frank said the massive win was a big surprise.
“We always knew our gins were something special but to have that affirmation from experts in the industry is the start of something extremely exciting for us,” Frank said.
“We are so proud to be recognised alongside some of the best distillers in South Australia…it’s our dream come true.”
Frankly Gin is set the be the perfect drink to pair with for those who don’t want to go overboard on their next night out – Berni who was formerly a fitness studio owner said Frankly Gin pairs well with low calorie tonic or sodas.
“You can still have few cheeky Gins without blowing the calorie budget,” she said.
The label for Frankly Gin was designed my local Black Squid who delivered on a clean and dynamic design. Keep your eyes peeled for Frankly Gin.
Frankly Gin will launch on Australian Gin Day on November 20 at Bowden Cellars.
