Free Arts And Music on the Final Day of Fringe!

What: Whitmore Square Arts Fair
Where: Whitmore Square, Adelaide
When: Sunday March 18 2012
Time: 11am – 4pm

Adelaide’s ‘forgotten’ Square comes alive on Sunday March 18 as The 8th Annual Whitmore Square Arts Fair takes over this glorious parkland space and fills it with unique art, fantastic music, interesting workshops and engaging children’s activities.

Presented by City South Association and The Adelaide Fringe, this event features works for sale from over 40 South Australian Artists who specialise in Visual Art, Ceramics, Jewellery, Photography, Sculpture and Textiles. The majority of these artists will also be creating new works on site.

A variety of FREE workshops will take place over the duration of the day, allowing attendees of all ages to try their hand at art and craft, and take home a one-of-a-kind piece of their own!

Once again, a great selection of talented local musicians will take to the outdoor stage for this year’s Fair. Alt folk trio Brillig never fail to enchant listeners with their melancholic musings, moody tales and shanties of the Sea. Headliners The Baker Suite are widely regarded for the elegant ballads and gypsy romanticism they conjure from acoustic guitars, accordian and double bass. And Babylon Burning’s rootsy grooves and reggae jams will ensure the event comes to a close on a smile-inducing positive note!

And with a licensed bar, great coffee and food (including vegetarian options), giant chess, basketball court, free face painting for the kids and much more, there’s something for everybody!

Event features:
Over 40 South Australian Artists, Free art workshops (suitable for all-ages), live music, great food, coffee & cold drinks, licensed area.

Workshops run 12noon – 3pm Live music program runs 11.30am – 4pm
