South Australian based, leading global software company, SRA, has created a dedicated cadetteship for emerging consultants to enter the tech sector. It will provide placement for 20-30 students per year from Adelaide’s first fee-free coding school, 42 Adelaide.

42 Adelaide is a world-renowned education institution and is changing the direction of youth employment. It aims to bridge the gap between prospective youth tech experts and industry leaders in technology.

After being open for 8 months, it has seen 450 students come through the free program since their opening date in June 2021.

Coming on board as a platinum sponsor, SRA have committed to offering placement for 20 cadettes per year and additional fast-track jobs for qualifying graduate students from the 42 Adelaide school.

The partnership will see South Australia’s globally recognised technology organisation, SRA help to build the career opportunities for South Australians and address the skills shortage locally.

The initiative will see students of 42 complete a 12-month cadetteship with SRA, with the placement and training providing promising future job opportunities for the students and continued industry growth for SRA. The commitment from SRA will likely see 100 direct local jobs created from the partnership.

42’s innovative model implements a contemporary approach to learning by allowing their students to explore the digital space in a project-based peer to peer learning program. SRA recognises the future growth potential of the technical skills acquired at 42 Adelaide, as well as the highly valuable soft skills.

SRA offers 3 core services which cadettes will experience:

  1. Projects – design, development, hosting and support of the entire lifecycle of client’s bespoke software solutions,
  2. Products – through an in-house startup studio model, technology products are developed, and entrepreneurs are guided and coached to success and,
  3. People – via a staff augmentation model, SRA deploy exceptional ICT professionals to client sites.

SRA clients include Commonwealth and State Governments in all jurisdictions of Australia, national and international corporate enterprises, as well as tech sector entrepreneurial ventures in the startup community.

SRA Executive Manager, Tim Chopping, recognises this partnership as a great opportunity for SRA and South Australia.

“We’re very excited to welcome the students of 42 Adelaide at SRA and have no doubt they’ll greatly contribute and complement the SRA business. We are excited to invest in developing non-traditional pathways and see this as an opportunity to rise the tide for underrepresented people to enter the tech sector.”

42 Adelaide partnerships have seen successful talent pipeline sponsors in high-growth industries from employers such as Lockheed Martin, Oz Runways, Aligent and Hutsix. The exciting news of SRA joining the 42 network will provide an even higher level of exposure and create a scale for growth in the tech sector for emerging students.

CEO and Founder of KIK Innovation, Louise Nobes understands the level of quality the partnership will bring.

“We are thrilled to have SRA on board as our first Platinum sponsor,” she said.

“The opportunity they’re providing for our students is very exciting.

“For our students to be placed in such a highly regarded company speaks volumes of not only their belief in our model, but the recognition of the benefits that our students’ skill sets will bring to their business and our state. “

The rollout will happen almost immediately, with SRA welcoming their first 20 students from the 42 Adelaide cadette program before April 2022.
