Free Community Barbecue At Luigi Delicatessen This Friday

This Friday, Luigi will be hosting a massive free community barbecue, held on the alleyway that corners the popular cafe on Franklin Street.

Luigi Delicatessen, now residing on Franklin Street under the Uniting Communities building, has continued to quietly expand into different offerings since its inception on Flinders Street.

From their beloved breakfast boards to their successful foray into novel desserts and cocktails, they’ve become a household name.

Managing not only to stay open during the implementation of COVID-19 restrictions and operating in a takeaway capacity, they’ve made an effort to give back to their community, particularly the Lifeline employees who also reside in the Uniting Communities building.

Their pay it forward scheme has seen Lifeline workers able to have free coffee, lunches and dinners, from the generous donations of Luigi’s patrons.

This Friday, Luigi will be hosting a massive community barbecue, held on the alleyway that corners the popular cafe.

The idea was spurred on by an anonymous gentleman, whose only request for the donation was to host a barbecue for the community.

They’ll have a charcoal spit running, and will be serving chicken, pork, lamb rolls and more delicious barbecue classics.

While you’re there you can donate to the volunteers who have been hard at work in the past few weeks, there’ll be a few Lifeline employees helping with the barbecue too!

Luigi’s team will be hard at work cooking all morning, so we can expect the barbecue to begin around 11am and go ’til 2pm, which makes it the perfect lunch time outing.

Just make sure to abide social distancing practices when you’re getting your food.

Find Luigi Delicatessen at 43 Franklin St, Adelaide, this Friday for their free community barbecue.
