Do you like jazz?
The City of Norwood, Payneham and St Peters will hold a hotly anticipating series of concerts that will be an endless source of free fun, picturesque picnics, and family memories to last a lifetime.
The three concerts that will be included in the series will take place on February 11, March 11 and April 1, 2023, respectively.
The February 11 ‘Jazz in the Park’ event will start from showcase Jazz in Cheek from 4pm to 6pm, with the Katrina Ryan Quartet taking the stage from 6pm to 8pm at Koster Park in Trinity Gardens.
Jazz in Cheek features Bonnie Lee Galea on voice, Richard Coates on keys, Quinton Dunne on double bass & voice, Steve Todd on drums & percussion, plus Peter Raidel on tenor saxophone.
The Katrina Ryan Quartet, featuring Mike Haynes on double bass, Lainie Jamieson lighting up the keyboard and John McDermott behind the drums, will delight the night.
The second event, Melodies in the Park will take place on March 11 at the Joslin Reserve in Joslin from 4pm to 8pm. Although the line-up of entertainment for the night is yet to be announced, the February musicians are already an exciting preview for what’s to come in March.
With that being said, Symphony in the Park on April 1 will star the Norwood Symphony Orchestra from 4:20pm to 8pm. The orchestra will include some intermissions between its performances, so that you can chat over BYO picnic food without interrupting the meticulous efforts of the musos on stage. Symphony in the Park will be held in Richards Park, Norwood on the corner of Magill and Osmond Terrace.
If you’re after free fun and a break from life, you can jazz it up over the coming months at these three concerts, which will be accompanied by a series of food trucks to get your fill while you chill.
