Donut connoisseurs Lukoumades are giving away FREE donuts for one hour on Friday night in celebration of their newly fitted-out Hyde Park store.

The sweet Greek favourites are inviting donut-lovers down for one hour of free serves on Friday between 8 and 9pm, abandoning the traditional end-of-the-week knock-off drinks in favour of a serving of 8 hot donut balls – we’re sold.

Head to Lukoumades’ Hyde Park venue and choose from their ‘all time classics’ range of donuts, which includes Original Greek (honey and cinnamon), Nutella Dream (melted Nutella and crushed biscuits) Kinder Surprise (melted milk and white chocolate and Kinder pieces) as well as two vegan donut options of dark chocolate and pistachio, or good old maple syrup.

What could be better than free donuts you ask? Not having to share the tasty treats with your friends! Each person who arrives at the Hyde Park store on Friday (between 8 and 9pm) will be doled out a generous portion of 8 donut balls each.

The hour of free-donut-madness is to celebrate the reopening of the Lukoumades Hyde Park Store, which has undergone recent renovations and will be making a grand opening to the public on Friday from 6pm. Gone is the previous decor of navy blue features, discarded in favour of a fresh and modern interior theme of white seating and timber bench tops, in keeping with their popular Henley Beach and Norwood stores.

These traditional Greek donuts are one of the most popular desserts in Adelaide, as well as being one of the oldest desserts in the world, so you can be sure these balls of goodness will be flying off the shelves into eager hands on Friday.

For those who haven’t yet welcomed these fried, doughy balls of goodness into your life, Lukoumades (pronounces ‘loo-koo-MAH-thess) is headed up by owner Alex, who is bringing his Greek roots to Adelaide and sharing these tasty delights with the sweet-toothed citizens of SA.

With a family recipe passed down from his yiayia, Alex keeps traditional elements of the dessert but shakes them up with a modern twist including a plethora of delicious toppings that can be drizzled over your donuts.
