This long weekend, a massive party is set to take over Semaphore Beach as HOLI on the beach arrives to transform the shores into a free colourful celebration.

Semaphore is set to come alive in a huge celebration of culture as the HOLI festival makes its way to the Adelaide shores for its sixth year bringing along with them fun activities and great food.

There is no need to dress up for this event as you can look forward to an explosion of colour unfolding on the beaches, covering you in a big rainbow mess. Grab your favourite colours and throw them up in the air as you watch the rainbow power fall from the sky and cover your outfits, or alternatively, throw them around at your friends for a bit of friendly fun.

“Holi is one of the biggest festivals in the continent. In India, it is traditionally a telling of love and a story of togetherness where people can dance, eat, sing and ultimately have a great time,” explained the President of the Indian Australian Art and Cultural Association.

“There is plenty to do and see, from the colour festivities to the jumping castles, the delicious food to the incredible live performances, this is an event you won’t want to miss.”

This event is set to be a great day out for families, kids, the young and the old. Whether it’s throwing colours around with some of your favourite people, dancing the afternoon away with the cultural performers or grazing on the incredible food options right at your fingertips.

Holi is one of the most popular and significant festivals in Hinduism, this event celebrates eternal and divine love and is heavily focused on bringing communities together for a shared day of fun.

The Indian Australian Art and Cultural Association has consistently brought this huge event to Semaphore with the purpose of sharing this cultural event with all Adelaideans and creating an event that celebrates each other’s cultures in a fun and exciting way.

Live performances on the day will include various talented DJs yet to be announced alongside cultural performers who you are more than welcome to dance alongside. There is set to be a sound for everyone here from classic DJ tunes to cultural melodies.

Tired after dancing and running around all afternoon? There will be plenty of delicious food options for you to indulge in at this event alongside many different drink options both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Whether you’re craving Tikka Masala or some fish and chips, all of your grazing needs will be satisfied.
