Free mechanical bull riding competition in Port Adelaide this Saturday

A free mechanical bull riding competition is kicking off at Port Adelaide’s Lone Star Rib House from 12pm-2pm on Saturday 28 May.

Think you’re a pro bull rider? Well, time to prove your skills at this free mechanical bull riding competition at the Lone Star Rib House at Port Adelaide Plaza.

Between 12pm and 2pm on Saturday 28 May, the rib house is challenging competitors to stay on the bull for 35 seconds or longer to win a free meal of Lone Star’s signature ribs.

Lone Star Rib House is all about good ol’ fashioned hospitality, serving up slow cooked, Texan style barbeque ribs, for which they are well-known for! Cooked for 8 hours and dripping in sauce, they will be a worthy prize if you manage to hold onto that bull for long enough!

If ribs aren’t your style, you’re in luck. Competition day just so happens to land on International Burger Day, and Lone Star has an abundance of burgers.

For example, the Old Dave Burger features a grilled Angus beef patty, American cheese, fried egg, smoky bacon, cos lettuce, sliced tomato, mini pickle, garlic mayo and barbeque sauce. Yes, to all the above, please.

Considering the world record for the longest ride on a mechanical bull is 2 minutes and 9 seconds… and the average bull-riding time is about 15 seconds… 35 seconds would be an impressive feat! Do you think you could conquer one quarter of a world record?

Lone Star Rib House is located at Port Adelaide Plaza, 200-220 Commercial Rd, SA 5015.
