Get out and enjoy a bumper festival season with the announcement of free public transport to and from the city!

The free transport, which began Friday 18 February, is running each weekend until 20 March 2022.

Free travel applies to all bus, tram and train services from midday Friday to midnight Sunday each throughout the festival season.

Additional O-Bahn services and a special ADLOOP tram is also be running every Friday and Saturday night, as well as on Sunday night 13 March.

“We’re making it easy to leave the car at home,” Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Corey Wingard said.

“Adelaide’s CBD is the place to be this time of year, as thousands of locals and tourists flock to enjoy the Adelaide Fringe, WOMAD and Adelaide Festival.

“Additional O-Bahn bus services will be running on the busiest nights to cater for increased crowds and get people home safely.

The popular free ADLOOP tram is also back again, providing easy access to the vibrant East End, Festival Plaza and hundreds of venues around the CBD.

“With your free, safe and convenient ride sorted, there’s no better way to get out and experience the best of Adelaide’s world-class festival season.”

The ADLOOP will see trams operate every 20 minutes from South Terrace to Festival Plaza, Festival Plaza to Botanic Gardens and Botanic Gardens to South Terrace, complementing the normal tram timetable and creating a 10-minute frequency within the eastern CBD.

Due to road closures in the East End because of festival events, some detours and stop closures will be in place for a small number of bus services.

Passengers are encouraged to visit www.adelaidemetro.com.au to check their timetable in real time and plan their trip ahead with Adelaide Metro’s journey planner. This weekend in particular there are train line closures to allow for critical works on the Gawler Electrification Project.
