If you’re looking for ways to fill your weekends and entertain the kids before school starts up again, we just have found the event series for you! After a two year hiatus, the City of West Torrens’ Summer Festival is back and introducing six free events for the first six weekends of 2023.

From open air cinemas and giant water slides to a massive food truck festival, the Summer Festival has a little somethin’ somethin’ to impress the whole family.

This weekend the summer series will be a dream come true for kids fascinated by big vehicles. Touch-a-truck – hosted by Kings Reserve, Torrensville, on the 4th February – will enable kids of all ages to get up close and personal with emergency vehicles and more.

The chance to see a huge model railway exhibit, radio control cars display and demonstrations by Adelaide Robotics Academy in Thebarton Community Centre is sure to get the kids out and about this weekend.

Not only will the Touch-a-truck event showcase some interesting and exciting vehicles that are sure to be showstoppers, but the event also provides the opportunity to meet the amazing people who drive them, and ask questions about how they work.

Bring a picnic rug and gather the family around for what is sure to be a great day out, if you’re busy looking around and taking pictures with the vehicles then grab a quick bite to eat at the sausage sizzle before cooling off with a choc-top at the ice-cream van.

The western suburbs summer festival is set to end with a bang with “The King’s Fork” presented by Fork on The Road on Saturday 11 February.

With more than 30 food trucks on site, The King’s Fork will have a huge lip-smacking selection of foodie options on show, complete with live music and water slides for the kids.

For a final cherry on top of the food truck fest, there will also be a free screening of Sing 2 held inside Thebarton Community Centre at 5.30pm.
