Fresh 92.7 sets the tone for 2024 with exciting changes to brekkie and drive shows

Adelaide’s number one community radio station has unveiled a fresh new line up, as well as breaking their weekly listener record. See what’s in store for 2024.

Adelaide’s beloved community radio station, Fresh 92.7, has entered the new year with a bang, unveiling exciting changes to its weekly lineup that promise to keep listeners engaged and entertained.

One significant change is the farewell to one of Fresh’s most beloved radio personalities, Lauren ‘Davo’ Davidson, who has embarked on a new adventure in Darwin at Hot100 and will be bidding adieu at the end of January.

Stepping up to the plate are the dynamic Adelaide-based duo ‘Tom & Callum,’ who have been a part of many on-air adventures during their time at Fresh. From producing to hosting a Sunday show, to covering the Drive segment, they have done it all. In 2021, they teamed up with Davo for the Fresh Breakfast show, and now they are set to take over the reins, launching their new Breakfast show, aptly titled ‘Tom & Callum,’ on Monday, January 22nd.

“We’ve had heaps of awesome opportunities at Fresh, from interviews with musicians we love, to being able to host parties like the Top 92 Countdown,” Callum said.

“We can’t wait to get out and about even more this year in the community, meeting people who love having a laugh like we do.”

Tom Holmes also expressed his excitement, saying it’s the pairs mateship that sets them apart.

“I’m really excited to see what level we can take this new Brekkie show. The chemistry between us, the mates we’ve made with our listeners, and the strange different perspective we seem to put on trivial tasks makes this show a dangerous combination of fun, fear, and plenty of laughs,” he said.

The Drive home show is also undergoing a transformation, becoming a dynamic duo featuring Drive announcer Cale Porter and news reader Maggie Felton. This collaboration promises to bring a fresh and entertaining twist to the Drive home segment in 2024.

The revamped Drive show, now named ‘Cale & Mags,’ is set to launch on February 5th, 2024, promising to be more local, outrageous, and amusing than ever before. With a dynamic new lineup and an ever-growing listenership, Fresh 92.7 is poised to continue its journey as Adelaide’s go-to community radio station, offering entertainment, laughter, and a sense of community to its dedicated audience.

“After 20 years in radio, I’ve never actually done a duo show, ever,” Cale said.

“This is something I’ve wanted for a while and cannot wait to shift the show in this direction. Maggie is like the sister I never had. She’s a genuine chick with an infectious vibe, which we’re all going to feed off! We’ve got so many exciting things planned for 2024!”

Content Director Sophie Campbell explains that although the decision to revamp the Drive show was unexpected, Maggie’s personality made it an easy decison.

“Everyone wants to be Mags’ friend, and we can’t wait for Adelaide to get to know her and love her as much as we do,” Sophie said.

But the celebrations don’t stop there, the Fresh team achieved an impressive milestone of over 212,000 weekly listeners for the first time ever.

In their impressive achievement, Fresh 92.7 has seen a 12,000 overall weekly listenership increase in the McNair Community Radio Survey, reaching an astounding 211,000 weekly listeners. What’s more, their Time Spent Listening (TSL) has also increased, with listeners now tuning in for an impressive 9.5 hours per week on average. The Drive show has seen a notable increase of 7,000 listeners, and the Workday segment has surged by a remarkable 13,000 listeners, solidifying Fresh 92.7’s position as a leading community radio station in Adelaide.
