Fresh 927 shines with new announcer and huge listener increase

The new Fresh breakfast team, Cale for the drive home, and the addition of Tayla to the team, has seen the community radio station’s success boosted.

Adelaide’s youth radio station Fresh 92.7 reconfirmed its spot as Adelaide’s No 1 community station, following the release of the McNair radio ratings, which reveals the station has grown by 20,000 overall listeners per week.

This result is impressive considering Fresh only launched its new Breakfast Team, Davo, Tom and Callum 6 weeks before the ratings period and the Brekky trio managed to grow their share by 10,000 listeners per week. The big winner was Cale for the drive home who increased his listener base by a huge 28,000 listeners.

On top of this record-breaking survey, Fresh is excited to announce a new workday announcer, ‘Tayla Mezzino’.

Tayla is another Fresh success story, having had multiple roles at the station since 2018 and now landing a role as part of the flagship on-air team.

Tayla is a music enthusiast made for workdays. Always in the know about the newest music facts, her passion for all things dance music brings an incredible vibe to Adelaide.

Tayla says she is thrilled to be taking up this new role. “I’ve been at Fresh for 5 years now and the station has really become a home away from home for me and to be given the opportunity to connect with the people of Adelaide every workday is something that is such a privilege and I cannot wait to get stuck in!”

Content Manager of Fresh 92.7, Sophie Campbell says the Survey results along with Mezzino’s appointment is fantastic news for the station. “It’s been a huge year for Fresh92.7, first a new Brekky trio, and now a new voice for our workday. Tayla is exceptionally talented announcer, and her vibrant personality makes her the perfect pick to have fun with Adelaide and to embrace Fresh’s genuine passion for music and the local community! Tayla will make an exciting addition to our on-air team!”

Chair of the Fresh Board, George Fiacchi says “It’s exciting to be part of the Fresh team and watch the development of some of Adelaide’s talented youth. Their success is a testament to the hard work they put in behind the scenes. Congratulations to all involved and I look forward to watching Fresh become bigger and better.”
