For the first time ever, the Adelaide Hills brings you FRESH!, an incredible opportunity to meet the people behind the best produce of the hills, in a delightful, wonderland garden setting. 

The Adelaide Food and Wine Festival welcomes you to a family friendly country market celebrating the finest regional produce of the Adelaide Hills. Set to a soundtrack of funky Mississippi jug band blues, enjoy gourmet Newbury and Watson Hot Dogs prepared by Richard Gunner of FEAST!, paired with handcrafted wines, beers, and ciders from the Hills and delicious local foods. Fresh is supported by PIRSA as part of their SA Regional Celebrations program. Regional Producers at the market will include;

Bald Hills Olive Grove 

From Bald Hills Road in Nairne, Bald Hills Olive Grove’s award winning extra virgin olive oil has a fresh spicy taste that will surprise and delight you. Their exceptionally plump, juicy Kalamata olives are great on platters and on pizza.

Buzz Honey 

A family owned business located at Kanmantoo in the pristine Adelaide Hills, producing hand selected and harvested honeys from a variety of locations across South Australia and specialised regions of Australia. Buzz take pride in retaining the unique flavours of their raw honeys through their chemical free, cold press extraction processes, ensuring their non-heat treated honeys preserve their natural enzymes and health giving properties. Enjoy Orange Blossom or Blue Gum honey with a chunk of fresh harvested honeycomb.

By Jingo! Wines 

‘Eccentric Wines, organically grown with minimal intervention’ Join winemaker John Gilbert and taste the alternative side to the hills. All of John’s red wines have been aged for a minimum of 3 years in old oak, with a focus on Italian varieties including Montepulciano and Zinfandel. White wines include Grillo, launching Australia’s very first Sang-Grillo, fruit-tingling goodness.

Gulf Brewery 

Produce hand crafted boutique beers from their outlet in historic Hahndorf. Producing a wide range of beers from a crisp refreshing lager to a smooth, dark chocolate stout, we can guarantee there will be a beer to suit every palate. A limited release doppelbock that has been brewed to commemorate Hahndorf’s 175th anniversary will be launched at the Fresh festival.

Howard Vineyard 

A stunning family owned Adelaide Hills winery located near Nairne, just 25 kilometres from the Adelaide CBD. Set amongst rolling vines, towering gum trees, and terraced lawns, the winery takes its name from pioneering horticulturist Amos William Howard who, in 1889, discovered subterranean clover growing naturally on the site where the Howard Vineyard Cellar Door stands today. Winemaker Tom Northcott produces wines which are fast becoming known for their delicate notes and fruit purity, a distinctive characteristic of Howard’s single vineyard grapes.

Jericho Wines 

An exciting wine brand created by the Jericho Family, Neil, Kaye, Sally, Andrew and Kim. Neil and Andrew have created the wines and have 50 vintages between them. Their winemaking philosophy is one of minimalism and purity. The Jericho boys look to interfere in the winemaking process as little as possible, not adding to or taking away, letting the fruit and the site speak for itself. Small batch, minimal intervention winemaking gives complete control over the wines from the grape to the bottle.

Locavore 

The Locavore Restaurant has been passionately serving only Adelaide Hills and South Australian grown food for over 6 years. A groundbreaking venue that lives by the principles of the 100 mile dietthat is they only serve produce grown within a 160km radius. Situated in the beautiful village of Stirling they love taking their product on the road and sharing their region with others. Locavore will be cooking their new sous-vide ready to eat meals, including 8 hour slow roast lamb rump, Gnocchi with salt bush lamb and duck leg with cabernet sauvignon jus.

LOBO Cider 

A wonderful collaboration between a hills apple grower and a Somerset Cider maker. Artisan by nature unique in character. Lobo’s range of cloudy ciders are made in the Adelaide hills from hand picked fruit from family owned and local orchards. Individually crafted to create an authentic cider; cloudy ,unfiltered, untamed and full flavoured.

Melba’s Chocolates 

Melba’s Chocolate Factory is a ‘working’ tourism factory located in a heritage listed complex at Woodside in the Adelaide Hills. In 1990 Joy and Graeme Foristal introduced 1940’s era chocolate and confectionery making equipment and began their dream, making old Australian favourites such as Inch Licorice Block, Traffic Lights and Rocky Road. Melba’s Chocolates is a popular family attraction as well as a significant Hill’s destination for families, groups, charters, national and international visitors.

Newbury and Watson 

SA’s newest artisan smallgoods producer and part of Feast! Fine Foods, meaning they have the same ethos of serving exceptional quality produce. Located in the Adelaide Hills, Jimmy Chirgwin Feast!’s Master Smallgoods maker, hand makes and smokes a range of delicious smallgoods using rare breed pork and a range of unique wood smokes including redgum, apple, cherry and hickory.

Prancing Pony Brewery 

The fire never goes out in the Prancing Pony Brew shed, the home of the unfiltered, undiminished and pure tasting fire brewed beers. The Ponies use fire under their brew kettle to tickle out flavours unique to the style of beer that they make. Unique fire-brewed beer brand, Prancing Pony Brewery, has placed twice in the Top 100 Australian Craft Beers and is produced here in the Adelaide Hills of South Australia. Prancing Pony Brewery is one of the youngest breweries in Adelaide and has already won numerous accolades and medals for its beers. The Pale Ale won silver while its Black Ale, Amber Ale and Blonde Ales all won Bronze at the recent 2013 Beer Awards.

Scott Wines 

Sam Scott makes modern, emerging wine varieties and styles including Fiano, Aglianico and Gargenaga. Expressive fruit grown in the cool climate Adelaide Hills, crafted with love and passion.

Top Note 

Top Note is a premium, small-scale wine producer located at Kuitpo in the southern end of the Adelaide Hills. They have a six variety, 40 acre vineyard opposite the forest from which they select small parcels to make hand-crafted, elegant wines. Top Note are offering an opportunity to taste their unique sweet wine made from rare Red Semillon grapes.

Woodside Cheese Wrights 

Producing an award winning selection of cow and goat milk cheeses which are handmade using traditional methods and the finest quality South Australian milk. Woodside Cheesewrights pride themselves on the quality of their products which are innovative and reflect the seasons. Their cheeses are produced by a passionate team, led by head cheese maker Kris Lloyd.
