The Hot Sauce Project is bringing together some of Adelaide’s hottest venues, underrated art talent and everyone’s favourite condiment for the people of Ukraine.

Arkhe, Soi 38, Masa, Tony Tomatoes, NOLA, and Good Gilbert are all producing their own hot sauces, with 100% of the price going to charity. Brought to you by SA based distributor, Secco Fine Foods, the project hopes to achieve a $20k donation target.

To launch the hot sauce campaign, NOLA will be hosting an epic fried chicken and hot sauce party on  Saturday 9 July, just after International Fried Chicken Day (Wednesday 6 July).

On the day, all hot sauces will be available for tasting with NOLA’s fried chicken. If you’re a chicken or spice lover, this will definitely an event for you.

After you’ve eaten your fill and taste-tested the products, each of the sauces will be available for purchase individually and in a limited number of six-packs.

Each uniquely made hot sauce will be $20 each, with the money going directly to UNICEF Ukraine.

Local artists Nina (@outgrown), Maddison Henriks (@meh.artist), Mitch (@mitchographer), Olivia Mannella (@livrosecreative), Jade Mars (@jademarsart), and Olivia Mastrodomenico (@oliviamastroo) not only designed the funky bottle labels, but have also created some pretty epic A2 prints available for purchase too. High quality A2 prints of each label, signed by the artists, will be available on the day for $50 each.

Why hot sauce, you ask? Well, it’s simple! The best thing about hot sauce is that there are no rules with ingredients or packaging, offering freedom for interpretation from both venues and artists. The venues involved were selected for the unique interpretation of fine food they bring to the SA dining scene.

Each hot sauce has its own unique flavour profile, and have been paired with particular artists to bring their graphic interpretation.

Artists were paired as follows:
Arkhe & @outgrown
Soi 38 & @meh.artist
Masa & @mitchographer
Tony Tomatoes & @livrosecreative
Nola & @jademarsart
Good Gilbert & @oliviamastroo
