FRINGE: Cirque Kalabanté’s Afrique en Cirque set to captivate audiences at Gluttony with an extended season

Back with a longer season in 2025, Cirque Kalabanté’s Afrique en Cirque returns to Gluttony, promising a vibrant showcase of African culture with acrobatics, music, and mesmerizing performances from March 8 to 23.

In 2025 Cirque Kalabanté’s stunning act, Afrique en Cirque, is set to stun audiences at Gluttony once again. After captivating spectators during its initial ten-day stint last year in 2024, the show will have an extended run from March 8th to 23rd 2025 at The Flamingo. Known for its vibrant celebration of African culture, this global circus spectacle offers a truly enchanting experience for all attendees.

Afrique en Cirque is a creation by Yamoussa Bangoura, reflecting the essence of everyday life in Guinea through a vibrant display of costumes, scenery, and artistic expression. Attendees can expect an energising production featuring outstanding acrobatics and intricate human pyramids, all accompanied by the rhythmic beats of Afro-Jazz, percussion, and the melodious Kora. It showcases the strength, agility, and spirited joy of Africa’s youth, bringing a piece of Guinean culture to the heart of Adelaide.

Yamoussa Bangoura, the creative force behind this mesmerising show, is a trailblazer in the world of circus arts in Guinea. Over the years, he has refined his skills across multiple disciplines including dance, juggling, and acrobatics. Today, not only does he craft the vision for Afrique en Cirque, but also leads these dynamic performances on stage. His achievements were recognised in 2023 when he received the Circus Arts Recognition Award from the Conseil des arts de Montréal, marking him as a leading figure propelling Productions Kalabanté into a promising future.
