The Fringe’s cabaret arena is set to be enriched with the arrival of Creatures of the Underworld, an immersive production that melds burlesque, cabaret, and circus into a compelling narrative. Audiences will lose themselves in a tale of self-discovery, liberation, and empowerment through the experiences of Sammy, the protagonist, in a surreal world where desires manifest and personal boundaries are tested.
Produced by the creators of the sell-out hit “Ce Soir à Paris,” this production offers an odyssey into sensual liberation. Here, Sammy delves into a dreamscape filled with opulent nightclubs and enigmatic encounters within the shadowed streets of Montmartre, enhanced by the allure of absinthe and the whispers of forbidden pleasures.

The show features a rich storyline built into a mesmerising cabaret show, capturing the vibrant, boundary-pushing spirit of the Adelaide Fringe.
Creatures of the Underworld is making history as the very first and only cabaret show to take over the iconic Gov during Fringe season and they’re celebrating in style! To mark the milestone, the cast has planned an unforgettable opening night on Sunday, March 16. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this one-of-a-kind event!
Creatures of the Underworld sets itself apart with a narrative of sensuality, freedom, and vulnerability. Audiences will be spellbound by this dazzling showcase of LGBTQI+ artistic talent in a celebration of raw beauty and transformation.
Featuring a cast with abundant competitive and professional dance experience across various styles, producer and performer Caitlyn Bernie AKA Amelie Astra leads a troupe through this high-energy performance that fuses precision, passion, and flair.

The show’s climax is both explosive and liberating, promising to leave the audience not only mesmerised by the artistic spectacle but also deeply moved by the authentic story before them. It invites audiences into a celebration of the complexity of the human spirit, portraying art as a beautiful mode of expression and a vehicle for self-realisation.

The cast features an eclectic mix of local, interstate, and international performers, including well-known artists in the cabaret and burlesque community like Skylar, Saint Eve, Jamie Alexandra, Ember Rose, Amelie Astra, and Petit Miam. The production promises a personalised experience in two distinct settings: Nineteen Ten Rooftop on Hindley Street and The Venue at The Gov.
