Award-winning performance group Head First Acrobats are bringing the revival of their highly successful show Elixir to this year’s Fringe. The new iteration builds upon the original Elixir, which captivated audiences with its daring acrobatics and dynamic storytelling. Elixir Revived is a true mix of narrative storytelling and acrobatic performance art.
In its original form, Elixir was awarded overall best Circus act at the Adelaide Fringe. So, with a bigger and better edition as Elixir Revived, this show is certainly one to look out for.
The show follows the story of four scientists as its protagonists, working at an authoritarian pharmaceutical corporation. They embark on a high-stakes mission to create the elixir of life, constantly experimenting on themselves with various concoctions. The narrative cleverly unfolds with each stunt, fuelled by the ambition and desperation of the characters. Impeccable comedic timing and acrobatic displays intertwine to create a spectacle of chaos and laughter.
Described as a blend of Cirque du Soleil’s theatrical acrobatics and Magic Mike’s charisma, Elixir Revived offers more than just visual entertainment. It integrates action-packed sequences with humour, making it highly accessible to a wide demographic, able to bridge language barriers.
