The wonderful world of Celestial Gardens: The Secret Sound of Plants returns for a one-of-a-kind sensory experience for Adelaide Fringe. This year, the award-winning Celestial Gardens is set in the picturesque surrounds of Adelaide’s Carrick Hill for six nights only from February 20th to March 2nd.
The scene is set for the magic that Celestial Gardens is now synonymous with. Just minutes from Adelaide’s CBD, Carrick Hill’s gardens turn into a stunning landscape of interactive plant music, installation, sculpture, art and a nightly program of live music. Guests are invited to wander pathways where plants reveal their hidden melodies through biodata technology. These natural vibrations are turned into harmonious music, offering an entirely new way to experience nature and one’s place within it.
At twilight, relax and unwind while enjoying live folk-fusion music – featuring different guest artists each night. Connect with a host of whimsical characters throughout the evening, and follow the pathways to see nature-inspired art curated by Jessica Curtis of In Search of the Divine.
Guests are invited to bring picnic blankets and enjoy gourmet paella and handcrafted ice cream from Rozelles, alongside a selection of fine wines and beverages at the on-site bar.
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:
- Interactive plant music: Experience the wonder of plants as their biodata turns into unique music, revealing their secret sounds.
- Art installations: Explore sculptures inspired by the interplay of nature and the celestial, created by local artists including Jessica Curtis, Kim Bellet, Zhuzhu and Ashley Anne Bruza.
- Live music: Each night features different artists, with soulful music vibes.
- Roving performers: Enjoy playful interactions with a host of whimsical characters – including Emma Leak’s “Cosmic Creations”, and interactions that inspire curiosity from the team at “Felicity Arts”.
- Gourmet catering and bar: Indulge in delicious paella, artisan ice cream, and fine wines from Rozelles.
- Be entertained by the wonderful MC for the evening, Dr Cathy Adamek.

Celestial Gardens offers a free-flowing format, allowing you to explore at your own pace between 6pm and 9pm. Each night, the live performances start at 6:15pm and the plant music sound experience by Sacred Resonance is at 7:45pm. Each evening offers something magical for all ages to explore and experience.
