Fringe favourite The 60 Four announce a swingin’ 60s September tour

South Australia’s premiere tribute group ‘The 60 Four’ to present the timeless hits of the ‘60s in Adelaide’s most iconic venue.

On the stage where Johnny O’Keefe, The Bee Gees and The Monkees treaded the boards before them, the all-South Australian group will contemporise the best of the golden era in an electrifying, Las Vegas-style concert at the Thebarton Theatre later this month.

After their highly successful Adelaide Fringe season, in which they toured their multi-award-winning show around South Australia, Ben Francis, Lachlan Williams, Finnegan Green and Kyle Hall will perform over 30 old-school classics, backed by a spectacular 9-piece band.

If you frequented the Royal Show this year, you may have even seen a snippet of the performance which had thousands of people stopping in their tracks.

The past three years have been a tumultuous time for the arts and entertainment sector, and The 60 Four has not been immune to that. Navigating border closures, restrictions and lockdowns meant that performance seasons were continually impacted, culminating in the devastating cancellation of their Fringe World Perth season earlier this year.

However, as Australia springs back to life, The 60 Four are going to dial it up to 10, and provide South Australians with a night of high-octane entertainment.

Director Ben Francis says the group is proudly and uniquely local.

“The 60 Four started seven years ago, as four high-school boys singing ‘60s music in empty classrooms during lunch,” he said.

“It was out first taste of the spine-tingling harmonies that were so prevalent in the era. We prepared a medley of songs by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons for a local awards night in 2015 and that sparked a fire in us. It is so humbling and exciting that we can now share this brilliant music with audiences all over Australia.”

The 60 Four: In Concert will feature songs by The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Four Seasons, The Bee Gees, Johnny O’Keefe, Elvis Presley and many more.
