FRINGE: Gravity & Other Myths brings award-winning spectacle ‘The Mirror’ home for a powerful Fringe encore

Adelaide’s own Gravity & Other Myths return to Adelaide Fringe with The Mirror, a visually breathtaking and emotionally raw contemporary circus triumph fresh from global acclaim.

Gravity & Other Myths is set to bring an unmissable spectacle to this year’s Adelaide Fringe, with the return of its award-winning production The Mirror.

This bold, breathtaking show blurs the line between circus, theatre and pure human introspection. Fresh off acclaimed seasons at the Sydney Opera House, Berlin’s legendary Chamäleon Theatre and a sell-out global tour, The Mirror is returning home to Adelaide after taking out Best Circus at the 2025 Adelaide Fringe.

This is not your ordinary Fringe show. Combining jaw-dropping acrobatics, live vocals, evocative music and cutting-edge technology, The Mirror is a journey into how we see ourselves and how we’re shaped by the world around us. Gravity & Other Myths (affectionately known as GOM) unravels the layers of identity, self-image and ego through physical feats that seem both impossible and deeply human.

The production is an exploration of reflection, literal and metaphorical, inviting audiences to laugh, view and occasionally wince as performers confront their own vulnerability on stage. It’s spectacular, playful and unexpectedly tender, pairing athleticism with humour.

Company Director Lachlan Binns shared, “The Mirror is the most ambitious show we’ve ever put on. We’ve completely pushed the boundaries on what you can achieve with physical theatre, and it’s incredibly humbling to see the response to The Mirror across the world, but especially at home, Adelaide, and our home festival, Adelaide Fringe. We can’t wait to bring it back for an encore Fringe season in 2026.”

During its 2025 Fringe run, The Mirror received a wave of five- and four-and-a-half-star reviews, praised for its creativity, physicality and emotional depth. Critics and audiences have applauded its ability to balance jaw-dropping circus moments with sharp wit and reflection.

Since debuting at Adelaide Fringe in 2010 with Freefall, Gravity & Other Myths has become one of Australia’s most respected contemporary circus companies, performing in more than 45 countries and reaching over a million people worldwide. Their work is known for celebrating humanity, playfulness and connection, and The Mirror is the most expansive expression of that yet.

Running from February 20th to March 22nd at The Octagon tent in Gluttony, The Mirror is a highlight of GOM’s 2026 Fringe season, alongside Ten Thousand Hours at The Peacock. For anyone craving a Fringe experience that thrills the senses while hitting somewhere deeper, this is contemporary circus at its best.
