Who’s that Belle?
Belle Benét is a Jazz & Blues Burlesque Cabaret Chanteuse & MC who will be gracing the stage at this year’s Adelaide Fringe from February 20th.
Belle Benét is influenced by the sounds of Ella Fitzgerald & Dinah Washington with the panache of Barbara Streisand, Grace Jones, Eartha Kitt & Josephine Baker.
The Show
Miss Belle Benét, an English born aristocratic showgirl, sits alone in her living room contemplating on her day. It’s spring, the year is 1951 and she is madly in love with her beau Bertie and sings of the love they share. Then the phone rings – who could it be? Is it Bertie confessing his undying love for her or does he have some news that will tear her world apart? Will she be singing the blues? Whatever he has to tell her, this strong lady with a sultry jazz/blues voice will not let her misfortune in love get her down for too long. She’ll bounce back with a huge bang!
Get ready to be transported back in time to when corsets were never removed, super high heels were the norm and feathers were every day jewellery!
Belle will also be performing an additional 3 shows with local Jazz & Blues Band ‘Iridium’ which is aptly name ‘Beldium Soup.’
