Written, directed and performed by Italian actor, Tom Corradini, and presented for the first time in Australia, an emotional journey inside the complex mind of a controversial political leader – admired even by Winston Churchill who defined him as “the greatest living legislator”. A man who wanted to become the king of Europe and ended up being its jester, Mussolini.
The story is based on July 24 1943 in Rome. Where the Grand Council of the fascist government meets to discuss the deposition of Benito Mussolini. Tired, stunned and overwhelmed by the reverses suffered by the Italian military, he waits inside a small study room of Palazzo Venezia.
In this study, he recalls how destiny drove him from poor and humble origins to becoming the supreme leader of Italy, the show highlights how much of his sanity he lost on this formidable journey.
Comedian, author and theatre producer Tom Corradini founded the theatre company, Teatro, with which he produces and distributes comedy and modern clown shows.
Tom has performed in Italy, France, Switzerland, Vietnam, South Korea, UK, the Czech Republic and Germany where he has received raving press reviews and audience reactions.
