FRINGE: Nurse Georgie Carroll scrubs back in for Adelaide Fringe with smash-hit show ‘Infectious’

Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist and real-life nurse Georgie Carroll brings her razor-sharp medical comedy tour Infectious to Adelaide Fringe for a strictly limited season.

The scrubs are back on, and the punchlines are sharper than ever for Adelaide local, Nurse Georgie Carroll as she makes a grand return to the stage and the Adelaide Fringe with her smash-hit show Infectious.

Presented by A-List Entertainment, the award-winning comedian, bestselling author and real-life registered nurse is once again scrubbing in for a national comedy tour. Following her Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist run and a string of sold-out seasons across the UK, New Zealand and Australia, Georgie is ready to tickle audiences one giggle at a time.

With a tea in one hand and a map of Australia in the other, Georgie has a uniquely wholesome approach to planning her tours. “I sit down, look at the map and think – who needs a good tickle next? That’s how tours are born,” she says. Thankfully for us, Adelaide has made the cut.

The show is totally relatable if you’ve ever clocked in for a shift in a hospital, waited far too long in emergency, or simply know someone with a body. Drawing on decades of frontline nursing experience, Georgie transforms the chaos of healthcare into a razor-sharp stand-up set. The result is storytelling that’s warm, witty and sometimes wildly inappropriate in the best possible way.

Georgie’s smash-hit show Sista Flo 2.0 toured for three consecutive years to sold-out audiences, confirming her status as a comedy powerhouse. Her bestselling book Off The Charts further proved her knack for turning real-life ward stories into laugh-out-loud moments, while her viral clip The Three Stages of Nursing has racked up more than 7 million views online.

Critics are equally hooked. Our fantastic team of Glam Adelaide reviewers called her work “Sublime comedy”, The Age described it as “Rollicking, riotous comedy”, while Mervyn Stutter’s Pick of the Fringe in Edinburgh labelled her “Exceptional”.

For South Australian audiences, Infectious will land at The Roundhouse at The Garden of Unearthly Delights from February 13th to March 22nd for a strictly limited season. Expect 60 minutes of side-splitting stand-up, sharp observations and stories that may make you grateful for your last GP visit.
