Fringe Review: 3

Three skills everyone would no doubt love to possess are on show at this award winning Fringe production; close up, mentalism & psychology.

With a name like ‘3’, not much is given away in the promotion of this Adelaide Fringe show which is currently playing at Gluttony.

I’m assuming it’s due to the three talented guys who have put this show together (Matt Tarrant, Shahin Zareei and Vinh Giang from MindBlown Productions), who dazzle audiences with their respective skills: Close Up, Mentalism and Psychology.

I’m sure the trio don’t refer to themselves as magicians, but magicians they are. In a sweltering tent crammed with a sold out audience, the trio magically entranced the audience, and kept them entertained for a solid hour – and not one person snuck out. Given that it must have been 40 degrees in there, they must have been doing something right for us all to stay & soldier through the heat, and stay entertained!

There’s a reason this show won the 2012 TalkFringe Award – and why it’s been at capacity every night. Book early for this one before you miss out, and brace yourselves. You’ll be astounded.

Oh, and bring a fan if you can. We managed to nab a Yelp cardboard fan from the bar beforehand. Well worth it.
