Fringe Review: Amity Dry Highway Superstar

Amity is back and better than ever with her new Fringe show, Highway Superstar

Buckle Up For A Perfect Girls Night Out

Highway Superstar is a light-hearted musical cabaret that will leave you clapping for more.

Off the back of her critically-acclaimed sell out shows, 39 Forever and Fortified, Highway Superstar is an absolute must see – her relatable humour, brilliant voice and awesome song line-up is peppered with special moments that provide non-stop entertainment in the one-hour show.

Amity is no stranger to the stage – and in this show you certainly hear why!  She has a beautiful voice that belts out some of your all-time favourite tunes married with her clever and sharp wit!

The song line-up was made up of crowd pleaser tunes from the likes of John Farnham, Madonna, Cindy Lauper, The Bangles, Adele, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Toto and Foreigner.

Sharing the stage with Melbourne keyboard musician and singer, Jamie Burgess (who also has a Fringe show called He’s Every Woman), the night is also filled with funny and enjoyable dialogue between the pair, who have a magic chemistry on stage.

There was an exceptionally funny costume malfunction that completely sums up Amity’s raw and honest sense of humour that you can’t help but love!

Another highlight was the cameo performance by Amity’s adorable daughter Poppy – It was unexpected and the crowd absolutely loved it.

My favourite moment was the finale – the whole crowd was out of their seats, singing along and dancing – the vibe was electric and the mood was pure fun.  It was an infectious send-off that left you feeling happy and joyous for the rest of the night.

So if you are after a great night out, filled with shameless fun – grab your girlfriends and a bottle of wine and buckle up for a great night out.
