Poppi (Maria Humphreys) is a barista, or as she puts it a drug dealer! And it’s a drug that many of us can’t do without. Poppi regales us with stories of her customers, fellow staff and her Greek family. With more than a few insights into the human condition and some great observations on the quirks we all display.
On an almost empty stage, this solo performer holds the audience attention and keeps them laughing for the full hour, no mean feat. She tells us about the difficult customers, and their children, about the stupid questions from new employees and a little about herself.
This is a gem of a show and only has a few performances, but I’m sure she will be back!
